Rhea starts each day with a warm glass of water mixed with apple cider vinegar, a ritual that energizes her. Along with this, she follows a strict AM and PM skincare routine. For her, skincare isn’t just about products—it’s a lifestyle. “I eat a lot of berries for antioxidants, never skip meals, and make time for regular workouts,” she shares. The journey to Rare Chemistry began during the lockdown of 2020. In her fourth year of college, with time to reflect and dream, she felt a desire to create something of her own. “I always wanted to start my own venture, and studying fashion and lifestyle gave me the confidence to explore a business centered on beauty and wellness.”
Skincare wasn’t just a casual interest; it was part of her heritage. Growing up, skincare was a family affair, with her grandmother’s wisdom passed down to her mother and then to her. Although she rebelled against those traditions as a teen, the lockdown allowed her to rediscover these age-old rituals and make them her own.

Running a business is no easy feat, but Rhea finds balance with a little help from family, especially her mom, who keeps her grounded through it all. “Having family by my side means a lot of things just fall into place,” she shares. “Of course, it also means expectations are high!” To recharge, Rhea carves out two hours every day just for herself, whether it’s reading, working out, cooking, or sometimes doing absolutely nothing! “Traveling or taking breaks really help me get back to the grind,” she adds.
Rarely Ordinary: A Skincare Philosophy
Rhea’s approach to skincare is anything but ordinary. She’s constantly exploring, learning, and refining, a practice that forms the backbone of Rare Chemistry. “I read a lot and explore how different ingredients affect the skin. Watching skincare videos, listening to podcasts, and studying competitor brands also keeps me up-to-date with global beauty trends,” she shares. This commitment to curiosity and growth fuels Rare Chemistry’s innovations, allowing the brand to stay relevant while honoring its roots.
Turning this passion into a business was a natural step. “My mom, who is a doctor, teamed up with a dermatologist friend, and together we researched and formulated products for different skin types,” she explains.
For anyone beginning their skincare journey, Rhea’s advice is refreshingly straightforward: “Be curious. Know your skin type. Viral trends might be fun, but they’re not always right for everyone.” She encourages readers to slow down, observe, and experiment thoughtfully – because, like Rare Chemistry itself, skincare should be anything but ordinary.
