Rainy days can mess with my skin really badly. The air’s all wet and heavy, and my face either gets slick or just looks tired. I’ve dealt with this for years, but I’ve got a few go-to tricks now. Here’s how I keep my skin in check when it’s pouring outside.

Key Skincare Tips for Monsoon

  • Wash your face twice daily, no matter what:

I grab a soft and soothing gel cleanser and give my face a quick rinse in the morning and before bed. It’s a lifesaver when the air’s so sticky. If I’ve got makeup on, I scrub it off at night, otherwise, pimples show up like uninvited guests.

  • Exfoliate gently a couple times a week:

I use an exfoliating face scrub to get rid of dead skin. If I skip it, my face looks dull, and I sometimes get those annoying little rashes.

  • Pop on a face mask once a week: I love kicking back with one of the pore-minimizing face masks, it’s like an SOS for my skin, especially when the humidity’s high.

  • Use a light moisturizer: I go for one with stuff like hyaluronic acid and niacinamide. Heavy creams? No way, they make my face feel like an oil slick.
Not sure which moisturizer won’t turn greasy in the rain? Check out our picks in the

  • Slap on SPF 50 sunscreen every day: Clouds don’t stop the sun’s rays, so I put it on every morning and add more if I’m heading out.

  • Keep makeup light and simple: I stick to waterproof mascara or a bit of cream blush. Thick makeup just clogs things up in this weather.

Special Care for Different Skin Types

If Your Skin’s Oily

Oily skin’s a hassle, I know. A cleanser with salicylic acid helps cut through the grease and keeps pimples away. And don’t even think about heavy makeup, it’s a bad idea.

If Your Skin’s Dry

My skin gets dry sometimes, especially in the rain, and it’s such a pain. I use a gentle cleanser, skip harsh scrubs, and smooth on a moisturizer with aloe or vitamin E. It makes a big difference.

If Your Skin’s Sensitive

Sensitive skin needs extra care. I go for products with no strong smells, maybe something with chamomile to keep it calm. I always test new stuff on a small spot first, after a bad experience once.

Additional Tips to Prevent Monsoon Skin Problems

  • Keep your hands off your face. I learned that lesson after touching my face post-gardening and ending up with breakouts everywhere.
  • Don’t pick your pimples no matter how tempting it gets.
  • After washing, I pat on a toner with no alcohol. It feels like a fresh start and keeps my skin balanced.
  • If it’s humid and I notice something off, like a rash that won’t go away, I keep my skin clean and dry. If it sticks around, I see a doctor, no sense taking chances.

These little habits have been a game-changer for my skin in rainy weather. No more pimples or dull patches for me. Give them a try, and I bet they’ll help you out too, rain or shine!
